First Fall Bug

Fall is officially here. We have all come down with some sort of bug (not an ant or camel cricket). Dave started feeling icky earlier last week. By Thursday the rest of us were feeling icky, too. Lucy woke up from her nap and said "Neck huwt, Mommy. Sucy need medicine pweeese." She doesn't understand what a throat is yet, so she told me her neck hurt. She has a cough, too. Lucy has been sooo sleepy and just not herself. I was watching Lucy on her monitor this morning and she was sitting up and talking, so I thought she was ready to get up. When I went in her room, she said "No Mommy, Sucy stiw (still) sweeping (sleeping). Cwose dooh (close door) pweese." She was ready to get up 15 minutes later. She did that yesterday afternoon with Dave, too. Only she didn't ask him to shut the door. When he left, she got up and closed the door after him. Gus has been off, too. He's been much fussier the past few days. We'll call the Dr. tomorrow to see what we should do.

Gus is really into books lately! He pulls them all out of the play kitchen (we keep the books in the stove and dishwasher of the kitchen), flips the pages, and tries to take a bit out of the pages. Tonight he pulled himself up, opened the refrigerator door (on the toy kitchen) and pulled out a basket with play food. He was so proud of himself.

We had a really laid back weekend. It was nice just spending time together as a family. We live close enough to church that Dave was able to go to the first service and come home in time for me to go to the second service. So even though the kids were in isolation, we weren't so much.

Halloween is on Wednesday. So, so exciting. Lucy is going to be Minnie Mouse and Gus is going to be a shark. Hopefully, everyone will be feeling much better by then!
