Potty time

It's been a wild week for us! Dave worked on his paper a lot this past weekend. He has officially completed his first semester of his MBA program. Yeah! Travis decided last Friday that he would fly down on Monday to buy Dave's car. It worked out well for Travis to buy it now, and we didn't have to find a buyer, so Travis got the car on Monday. Meanwhile, Dave still doesn't have a car. We have it narrowed down to a few. Hopefully, he'll have a car by this weekend. It's nice that Dave's work is only four miles away, dropping him off and picking him up hasn't been so bad.

On Saturday morning Gus was lying in bed with us and started saying "baa." We started singing Old McDonald and he said "e-i-e-i-eee" and "baa" at all the right times. He was so proud of himself. He's saying "mama" a lot more lately and yesterday he was trying to say Lucy. He lights up when we understand what he's trying to say.

At Bible Study last night the babysitter, Chloe, was telling us how Lucy did. She said in passing "And Lucy asked to go potty and so I took her on the potty and she went. She needed a little help getting her diaper off, but she pulled off her pants by herself." I was shocked! We've been trying to get Lucy to go on the potty for months. That was Lucy's first time actually going on the potty! Chloe was surprised, because Lucy seemed to be used to the routine, like she's done it before. Lucy hasn't done it again, but she probably will next week for Chloe.

I'm working on the house all day tomorrow while mom watches the kids! We're so close to having everything done. A few more hinges, knobs, painting, and caulking and we'll be done! Hopefully, I'll get a big chunk done without the kids here!
