Catching Up

We've been moving things around and getting ready for baby Judson. I definitely have the nesting bug and have been trying so hard to not do too much. We moved the train table upstairs to the family room two weeks ago. It's too hard for me to go up and down three levels all day, so we thought we would bring more toys up from the basement to the main level for the kids. Gus especially loves having the train table upstairs, he plays with it so much more now.

Lucy had her Easter Hat Parade and egg hunt at school on Monday. Dave, Gus, and I drove there together. It's always fun to have time with just one kid at a time. Gus sat in between us and colored while we waited for the parade to begin. Ms. Cindy, the director of the pre-school, was giving us directions on how the egg hunt would go before the kids came out and mentioned goodie bags. Gus popped his head up, gasped, and said, "Goodies?" We totally didn't think he was paying attention, but clearly he was, and he understands the concept of goodie bags.

Dave took the kids around to help Lucy find her eggs. She had to find two each of six colors, 12 total. It was so neat to watch her process what she needed to do. Beforehand, she explained to us that she needed two of each color, not three, not one. When she hunted for the eggs, she completed each color pair before she moved onto a different color. So if she found one yellow, she passed green, pink, and blue eggs until she found the other yellow. Lucy had the process all figured out in her mind and Dave just walked around with her. She's a very organized thinker! She got all of her eggs lightning fast, too! Lucy got her goodie bag when she turned in her eggs and immediately shared the treats with Gus, on her own initiative. It was so incredibly sweet.
