Letters

Lucy knows all of her letters now! We have 26 flash cards with matching alphabet magnets. Grandma's been helping her with the letters for about a month and this past week everything clicked. All of the flashcards have pictures that start with the letter. You can ask her to find an "R" without showing her the card or telling her the picture and she'll find it and say "wat" (rat)! She has an incredible memory! The flash card for "I" is ice, so we sing "Ice, Ice Baby" - throwback to the nineties. She also sings it when we ask her to find the "I." By Saturday, she was able to do all 26 letters. On Sunday she would see letters around the house and tell us what they were. She's such a little sponge!

Uncle Travis got Lucy a Little Tikes car for her birthday. We keep the car down in the media room. She loves to go down and drive and go "shopping" with all her little purses and animals. Since she's gotten the car she's turned into the worst backseat drive. She's the worst with Grandma. She'll yell "Dwive, Stwaight, Tuwn Here, Tuwn Dare." On Friday night the four of us went out and on the way home she yelled up to Dave "Dwive Daddy!" We were at a red light and she didn't like that too much. Then she said "Sucy backseat dwiver!" At least she knows.

Gus LOVES taking baths. On Saturday night we had the kids in the tub and Lucy splashed Gus. He guffawed. So then he started to kick water back at Lucy. He thought he was so funny and couldn't stop laughing. He's quite the little character.

We went to Merge at church last night. Merge is an event our church has twice a year that connects people with small groups. About 175 people came looking for groups to get involved in. Our core group of six went to Merge to get connected with other people who want to be in a Bible Study the same night and time. It kind of feels like rush, only for Bible studies. The other six people we found who will be in our group are great! We seem to have a lot in common and all of us have kids who are around the same age, so that will be fun! The group doesn't start until the middle of September, which will work out well with our schedules!

We have pre-school things Tuesday and Wednesday. So fun! Dave starts his MBA on Wednesday. The summer went by way too fast!
