Changes

It's been a busy few weeks with lots of changes. We decided about a week and a half ago to not move. Crazy, I know. With the way the economy is right now, it seems prudent to stay here another few years. We're losing some money from the other house, but we're still able to get out of it. At the end of the day we decided that there were too many unknowns with keeping our house on the market, and we're doing well where we're at now. So why mess up a good thing? Dave moved all of our stuff back from the other other house last Saturday. He also added more flooring to the attic last weekend. I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation. We're able to really live in our house again. I'm so much more at peace, that alone is worth it's weight in gold.

Dave finished his class on Thursday night. He starts two more classes next week.

Lucy has picked up on the whole election concept. Robb (Dave's cousin) came over to watch the election results on Super Tuesday. Lucy wanted to know what elections were, so we described elections as the grown-ups in America, our country, choosing line leaders. She vaguely understands the concept of "America." It helps that she says the pledge at school and she knows people who live far away in our country. She said she wanted Megan to be her line leader. Of course! Who wouldn't want Megan as their line leader? So this week we were watching the news and Barack Obama was on TV. Lucy asked who he was, and I explained that was Barack Obama, and he's trying to be line leader for America. A few days later Senator Obama was on the news again and she said "That's Bawalk Obama! He twying to be wine weeduh." She's managed to work "Bawak Obama" in a few conversations this week. We'll be talking about something, about picking something and she'll pipe up with "Pick Bawalk Obama?" Hilarious. Especially because we don't talk about politics around her.

I took the kids outside to play on Wednesday night. It was the first time Gus played outside. He was a riot. He ran across the cul-de-sac with his arms up yelling like a bear. He tried eating asphalt, dirt, pine cones, pine needles, and grass. He's all boy. Gus isn't afraid of Maggie the dog anymore! Yeah! Lucy was literally covered in dirt, she thought it would be fun to put dirt on her head. They both had a good long soak in the tub. The kids love being outside and all the outside toys. We were outside again last night and Gus was running across the cul-de-sac chasing the neighbor boy, running at full steam and totally wiped out, twice. He scratched his nose pretty bad the first time, and his forehead the second time. He was tough and didn't cry much at all. After both falls he wanted to get back down and run some more. He looks awful this morning, the cul-de-sac definitely won that battle!

We're settled again, so the Big Blue House in now open to visitors.
