We intentionally held out on Valentine's Day until the last possible moment, we didn't want to take away from Gus' birthday. Not that we made a huge deal about his birthday, we just didn't want it to be overshadowed by all the hearts. So we went from one celebration to another and Valentine's Day festivities started on the 13th for us. Lucy had her pre-school party on Friday morning. My mom watched Gus so I could go with Lucy to her party. She had a blast. It was so much fun watching her interact with her friends at school. They are a riot!
We decided a couple of weeks ago to make Valentines as a family on Saturday morning, and not go buy Valentines. We pulled out all the craft supplies and sat around the kitchen table for an hour and a half on Saturday morning making Valentines for each other. It was so much fun! When we were done we each took turns presenting our three Valentines to the other people in the family. Gus did not care at all about the Valentines Dave and I gave him (he literally threw them aside), but when Lucy gave him her Valentine, he stopped everything, opened it, and said, "WOW!" We got each of the kids two Jibbitz for their Crocs as Valentines. Lucy got Ariel and Snow White. Gus got Woody and Buzz. We got steak and veggies to grill out on Saturday night. It was such a special, sweet day. I loved it!
