Travis came for a visit last Saturday. The kids didn't know he was coming, so they were super excited when he showed up! Lucy had a birthday party on Saturday and on Sunday we had a cookout with some friends.
Judson had his six month appointment on Wednesday. He is 25 1/4 inches long (20%), 15 lbs 1oz. (10%). His eyes cross, so we were referred to an ophthalmologist, the same one who did Gus' eye surgery. Hopefully, everything is fine. We gave Judson pears for the first time on Thursday and he loved them. He's rolling and scooting along, but not crawling yet! Thank goodness. He started sleeping in his crib last week, too. It's so nice not having to put the pack-n-play away every morning and take it out at night. Judson and Gus seem to like sleeping in the same room.Lucy and Gus had school all week. Picture day was Thursday, they both love cheesing for the camera. Gus got to wear a tie to school. Lucy also brought snack on Thursday, which meant she was line leader. It's the little things that make life so great for them.
Travis decided on Thursday afternoon that I needed to go to the Jason Michael Carroll concert with him at the NC State Fair. Dave had rehearsal at church, so my mom came over to watch the kids until Dave came home. It was cold and rainy Thursday night. Going to a a concert was the last thing I wanted to do, but I knew I should go. We ended up having a really great time.On Friday, the kids, mom, Travis, and I went to Duke Gardens in Durham. It was beautiful. All the fall flowers were blooming and the weather was great. The kids ran for the entire hour we were there. Gus was in heaven, he didn't stop running once. Then we went out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Good times.
Friday night we went to the Carolina Bre
wery in Chapel Hill. We hadn't been since the last time Travis was here. Judson sat in a high chair for the first time. Lucy sat in her first high chair at the Brewery, too. Judson did great, he really loved it. Gus was bounding with energy. Lucy was super moody, she fell asleep on the way there and we had to wake her up once we got there. She held it together, though. The picture of all three kids at the table is exactly how they are when we go out. Gus stands when he eats, and takes all the lemons out of the water. Lucy colors and always has a crayon in hand. Judson is plotting what he can grab next. That boy does not miss a beat.
