A few months ago we started having Friday Family Fun Fest with the kids. Dave made up a little song and dance and we do something special as a family. Sometimes we go out for dinner or ice cream, but almost every time we finish the night watching a movie in the basement. The kids LOVE it!
This past Friday we went to Barnes and Noble to get a birthday present for the beginning of Friday Family Fun Fest. As we were driving there, Lucy remembered that Barnes and Noble has a stage. The girl loves to perform! She had her leotard on all day, so I told her she could just put her tutu on over it and wear it out. Lucy was ecstatic. She asked if she could wear her Cinderella shoes with it and I let her (she's never worn them outside). The kids played with the books for awhile and then they gave us a little performance on the stage. Lucy and Gus were both very excited about performing. Judson just hung out in the stroller. This past week he really has started noticing textures and feeling things. He loves his little cotton stroller blanket. My mom went to Indiana for two days, so we had Jim over for dinner on Friday night. Then we watched A Bug's Life in the basement. Our life has been relatively uneventful lately. Dave is taking a summer school class that is two nights a week for five weeks. He'll be done with it this week! We thought we'd give it a trial run and see how it went to determine how many classes he should take in the fall. The kids and I did okay with it, so Dave will take two more classes in the fall. He's on track to graduate next spring with his MBA. We'll have next June off with no school and then Lucy will most likely start kindergarten in July! It's amazing how time flies.
