Father's Day

The kids were SO excited about Father's Day. Lucy made a present and card for Dave at pre-school and we hid it over a month ago. She remembered exactly where it was and couldn't wait to get it out. Lucy, Gus, and I made homemade cards for Dave. We also made him breakfast in bed consisting of bacon, cinnamon rolls, and coffee.

We went to the Durham Bulls game on Sunday night with mom and Jim. I've never been to a baseball game where I watched so little of the game! I love baseball food and so did the kids. They had a rainbow slush, a hot dog, and a funnel cake. Dora was at the game and did a few things on the field between innings. Lucy's convinced that Dora is a baseball player now, too. She's said a few times this past week, "Dora is my favorite baseball player!" Dora had a meet and greet, and of course, we went. Lucy ran right up to her, Gus was a bit more hesitant, but warmed up to her pretty quickly. We decided to leave half way through the sixth inning, the kids were still really happy and having a great time. Our theory was that if we left on a good note, they would want to come back again. It worked! On the way out, Lucy asked if we could go to another baseball game. Every day for the past week both kids have asked to go to the baseball game again. Good times.

Judson went to the game, too. Mom held him for most of the time. He was perfect. He loved the heat and slept through the entire game!
