The weekend was pretty laid back. On Saturday night the town of Morrisville had fireworks and we can see them pretty clearly from our front porch. Lucy had signed her Father's Day card for Dave and hid it in her room so she could give it to him first thing in the morning. We woke Lucy up for the fireworks (Gus was already awake) and went out to watch them on the cul-de-sac. When we came back in, Dave tucked Lucy in her bed and she said to him, "Don't sniff wike a dawg for you cawd Daddy!" We've never heard her use that expression before, we didn't even know she knew that dogs sniffed for things.

The play set has provided us with hours and hours of entertainment. I love it! Gus has taken to the big slide, finally. I put him on the upper deck of the play set and he climbs up to the top of the slide, gets his feet in position, and pushes off. He flies down the slide and we catch him. He loves it! Lucy was afraid of the slide last week and part of this week. She went down too fast a few times and landed funny. She decided yesterday to go down again. She said, "I awways (always) need to keep twying and nevuh give up Mommy!" Again, no idea where she learned that one. After going down the slide five times she threw her hands up in the air and yelled, "Wucy scowes (scores)!" She's been watching some ESPN with Daddy.

The kids were playing in Lucy's room yesterday morning while I was doing laundry. I came back in the room and found Gus with stickers all over his face. He was looking at Lucy's Disney photo album (which Lucy NEVER lets him do). Lucy figured that Gus wouldn't mind her putting stickers on his face if he could look at the album. It's amazing to me that they know what they both want and can negotiate with each other to get it.
