We woke Lucy up this morning singing "Happy Birthday." She smiled so big. We probably sang the song to her about ten times today. Tonight when she had her birthday cake Lucy asked for candles and wanted to blow them out. After each time she said "again." Finally, after the third time (and lots of spit on the cake) she figured out how to actually blow out the candles (Daddy didn't have to do it for her). When you ask Lucy how old she is she says "I'm two." She hasn't quite mastered how many fingers that is yet, one finger was much easier to hold up.
We were writing Lucy's thank you notes for her birthday presents last night and we told her one was for "Uncle David." Lucy responded with "Uncuh Daddy." It took us a second and then we realized that she knows her Daddy's name is David, so she translated it into what she should call her Daddy. So sweet.
